Amravati | April 16: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the newly inaugurated state-of-the-art Amravati Airport and the Air India Pilot Training Centre will give Amravati a unique identity on the global map. He emphasized that completing infrastructure projects like these, along with irrigation and transport facilities, will help bring Vidarbha into the mainstream of development.
The inauguration of Amravati Airport, the launch of passenger air services, and the demo flight from the Air India Pilot Training Centre were conducted today in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, MoS Murlidhar Mohol, and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
CM Fadnavis highlighted that the airport will open new opportunities for economic growth, generate direct and indirect employment, and attract industrial investments—especially in textiles, supported further by the upcoming PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park, expected to generate 2 lakh jobs.
The Pilot Training Centre, the largest in South Asia, will train 180 pilots annually with 34 aircraft, helping address the growing demand for skilled aviation professionals.
