The foundation stone of the premium center of Madhav Netralaya, located on Hingna Road, was digitally laid by Prime Minister Modi. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of healthcare and the significant strides made by the government in this sector. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Swami Avdheshanand Giri, Swami Govind Dev Giri, and Madhav Netralaya Charitable Trust Secretary Dr. Avinashchandra Agnihotri were present at the event.
Prime Minister Modi said that when he assumed office as Prime Minister, he had announced from the Red Fort the resolve to advance the country in healthcare reforms. Over the last decade, millions of Ayushman Bharat centers have been established in rural areas, providing health services to crores of people. Telemedicine has strengthened healthcare delivery, and the number of AIIMS institutions has tripled. For the first time since independence, medical education is being made available in regional languages. Seats in medical courses have been increased, and yoga and Ayurveda have gained global recognition. The government's policy ensures that no one is deprived of healthcare services, and work in this direction is progressing efficiently.
The Prime Minister said that healthcare networks have been established across the country, Madhav Netralaya is carrying forward this commitment to healthcare reforms. Inspired by the ideals of the second RSS Chief, Madhavrao Golwalkar Guruji, the institution has illuminated the lives of many by removing darkness. The premium center will expand and accelerate the work of Madhav Netralaya, adding to the progress of the healthcare sector in India.
The Prime Minister also reflected on the life of Vidarbha's great saint, Pragnyachakshu Gulabrao Maharaj, who was born blind but overcame his blindness to achieve spiritual and intellectual insight. He emphasized the teachings of saints like Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram, Sant Namdev, and Sant Eknath, who united India and imparted wisdom. Madhav Netralaya has followed their principles in its service to society, and the Prime Minister expressed his wish for the institution's uninterrupted progress.
The Prime Minister released a commemorative booklet highlighting the journey of Madhav Netralaya under the theme "Tamso Ma Jyotirgamaya" (From darkness to light). Madhav Netralaya Secretary Dr. Avinashchandra Agnihotri delivered the introductory remarks, and the event concluded with a peace prayer.

Madhav Netralaya was established in 1995 in Nagpur in memory of the second RSS Chief, Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar. The Madhav Netralaya City Center in Vasudev Nagar has been operational since 2018, offering modern eye-care services to underprivileged patients at affordable costs.
Details of the New Facility
The new Madhav Netralaya facility will be built on 5.83 acres of land near Hingna Road, Vasudev Nagar. It will feature: 250 beds, 14 outpatient departments (OPD), 14 advanced surgery centers, An eye bank and research center The premises will also include green landscaping, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy systems.
